The Name Dabotek was founded in 1983.

During the time in 1960'th Maneger of Varios Kolding Helge Harlev started selling Stud Welding from TRW Nelson for the Heavy Industry as Shipbuilding and Construction industry. For the "light" Industry her worked together with OBO Betternann from the beginning in 1970'th. In the end of 1970'th Helge Harlev also worked together with Köco. Köco manufactored first welding stud and then started to manufactore stud welding equipment in Germany. Varios also 1969 started to manufactore Ceramic welding backing in Holland.

In 1983 Helge Harlev started the Company Dabotek ApS, Where all Stud Welding Products was gathered.

In year 1993 the son Bo Harlev toke over and restarted production of welding backings for shipbuilding , later ceramics for the thinplate industry.
